Our Commitment to Security
MELLO takes the security and privacy of our users seriously. We employ industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure database hosting through Supabase, and regular security reviews. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection against all possible threats.
Data Encryption
All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS/SSL. Database connections are encrypted end-to-end. We do not store sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, medical records, or financial account details.
Third-Party Services
MELLO uses trusted third-party services for hosting (Supabase), AI processing, and analytics. These providers are vetted for security compliance and are contractually bound to protect your data. We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
AI Processing and Data Handling
Conversations with Mel are processed through secure AI infrastructure. We do not store personal identifiers with conversation data. Voice interactions are processed in real time and audio is not retained. Crisis language is detected algorithmically and you are immediately directed to professional resources — MELLO does not independently contact emergency services.
Reporting Security Issues
If you discover a security vulnerability or have concerns about data protection, please contact us immediately at security@mellow.org. We take all reports seriously and will respond within 48 hours.

While we employ reasonable security measures, MELLO cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat those measures or use your personal information for improper purposes. You acknowledge that you provide information at your own risk. MELLO is not liable for any security breach that is outside of our reasonable control.
